How linear did it feel- or rather, do you think it's comparable to any previous 3D Sonic titles?
The closest I could say is Lost World, but highly improved.

It was pretty enjoyable, but I think a large factor is what you're looking for in a Sonic game.
If physics based movement and clearing stages primarily are what you're looking for it might not be for you.
